OPEN LETTER TO MR. ALAN KWADWO KYEREMANTEN(ALAN CASH)

Dear Alan Cash,
Your recent statements as the Movement for Change’s flagbearer insinuating that Ghana is solely for Christians and, by extension, only a Christian should hold the presidency is not only unfortunate, but divisive and dangerous, and I categorically reject such divisive rhetoric.

Ghana is a nation built on the principles of unity, diversity, and inclusivity.
Mr. Flagbearer, let me remind you that Ghana’s constitution guarantees freedom of religion for its citizens. It is a fundamental right for every Ghanaian to practice their chosen faith without fear of discrimination or prejudice. Our nation’s strength lies in its ability to embrace and celebrate the diversity of its people, including their religious beliefs.
It is a deep concern that in this 21st century, we are still witnessing attempts to use religion as a tool for political gain.
The presidency of Ghana should be determined by competence, integrity, and a commitment to serving all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliations.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as a devout Muslim has demonstrated his dedication to the betterment of our nation through his exemplary leadership and unwavering service to all Ghanaians.
Furthermore, let us not forget that Ghana has a long history of religious harmony and coexistence. Our strength as a nation stems from our ability to stand together, irrespective of our differences.
By succumbing to divisive rhetoric, we risk eroding the very fabric of our society and jeopardizing the progress we have made as a nation.
As we approach the upcoming elections, let us focus on issues that truly matter- issues that affect the daily lives of all Ghanaians, regardless of their religious beliefs. Let us engage in constructive dialogue, promote unity, and work together towards a brighter future for our beloved country.
In conclusion, I urge all Ghanaians to reject divisive rhetoric and embrace the principles of unity and inclusivity that have defined our nation for generations.
Together, we can build a Ghana where every citizen, regardless of their background, can thrive and prosper.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Prof. 3meredane Godwin
