Atebubu-Amantin Watch

Atebubu-Amantin: Fear grips traders over rampant robbery.

Fear has gripped traders and residents in the Atebubu-Amantin Municipality of the Bono East Region due to the increasing incidents of robbery in the area. The recent shooting of Mr. Suraj Mohammed, an NDC branch chairman who was returning from Yeji, has only heightened these fears.

Traders in various market centers such as Atebubu, Yeji, Kwame Danso, and Kajeji have reported a significant decline in business as a result of the rampant robberies. The residents believe that the deteriorating state of the roads in the area has contributed to the increase in criminal activities.

The traders, who are the most affected by these incidents, have called on the Bono East Regional Police commander to provide adequate security measures to address the situation. They shared their harrowing experiences of being robbed while going about their daily business, and expressed their concerns for their safety and livelihoods.

It is clear that the current situation in Atebubu
-Amantin municipality is untenable, and urgent action is needed to ensure the safety and security of the residents and traders in the area. The authorities must take decisive steps to address the root causes of the rampant robberies and provide the necessary resources to combat this growing threat.
