Enchi Forest Division and military personnel fight against galamsey.

The Enchi Forest Division and military personnel have successfully carried out a joint operation against illegal mining (galamsey) in the Boin Forest Reserve, near the Côte d’Ivoire border. The operation resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals involved in mining activities within the protected forest reserve. Their camps and machinery were also destroyed.

The arrested individuals have been handed over to the Enchi Divisional Police Command for further investigation and potential prosecution. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts to protect Ghana’s natural resources and environment from the harmful effects of illegal mining.

Such initiatives demonstrate the importance of collaboration between government agencies, security forces, and local authorities in enforcing environmental regulations and preserving ecological balance.
