In line with the seven pillars of Atebubu development, where each letter in the word ATEBUBU represents a strategic focus area, the sixth pillar, “B” for Build Strategic Partnerships, has triggered a new collaboration aimed at empowering the youth of Atebubu through enterprise and agriculture.

On Friday, November 21, 2025, the Paramount Chief of the Atebubu Traditional Area, HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, held a high-level meeting with Dr Emmanuel Dei Tumi, Founder and Executive Director of the Africa Future Leaders Institute of Global Affairs (AFLIGA). The engagement took place to explore areas of partnership in youth empowerment, youth enterprise development, and, most importantly, youth-led agripreneurship.

The meeting sought to strengthen ties between the Atebubu Traditional Area and AFLIGA, with both parties agreeing on the need to combine expertise, networks, and resources to drive growth and prosperity in Atebubu. Discussions focused on practical initiatives that can quickly translate into jobs, skills, and sustainable livelihoods for young people.

Two priority areas dominated the dialogue. First, both sides explored the establishment of youth-led agricultural projects, supported by capacity development programs, with particular attention to young girls and women in the traditional area. Second, they examined the design of training and mentorship programs for local farmers and entrepreneurs, to help them participate more actively in the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Speaking during the meeting, Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah expressed strong enthusiasm for the emerging partnership. He highlighted Atebubu’s vast agricultural potential and stressed that youth empowerment remains a central pathway to unlocking the area’s full development prospects. He noted that structured support for agribusiness, combined with enterprise mentoring, could create both direct employment and a stronger local economy.

The meeting was facilitated by Mr. Raphael Kofi Gapson, the Project Manager at National Service Authority in charge of Agricultural projects, who is also a seasoned educationist and General Secretary of the National Council of PTAs, Ghana.

In his response, Dr. Dei Tumi welcomed the collaboration and reaffirmed AFLIGA’s commitment to Africa’s development through youth leadership and enterprise growth. He underscored AFLIGA’s readiness to work with traditional authorities and community structures to nurture future leaders and to support youth-driven economic transformation.

Both parties agreed to pursue follow-up engagements to outline a clear framework for action, including pilot youth agripreneurship projects and targeted training programs. The meeting, therefore, marked the start of what is expected to become a strategic partnership capable of transforming Atebubu’s agricultural sector, building youth enterprise capacity, and opening new pathways for inclusive development.
