“The Unlawful Replacement of the PM in the Electoral College must be Reversed,”~Hon. Mpoebi

The Assembly member of the Bonwieso-West electoral area and Presiding Member (PM) of the Krachi-Nchumuru District, Hon. Mpoebi John Nteleye, has stated that the interference of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman in the nomination of representatives in the Council of State electoral college is unconstitutional and must be reversed with immediate effect.

Hon. Mpoebi disclosed that the Assembly has already and peacefully nominated their representatives and doesn’t see why the NDC constituency chairman, Mr. Mambo, should replace the Presiding Member (PM) with Hon. Wereku Banaman, the Assembly member for the Grubi electoral area and forward same to the regional coordination council.

The Presiding Member (PM) argued that Article 89(2)(c) of the 1992 constitution mandates the Assemblies to nominate their representatives without interference from any quarters.

In a letter addressed to the Regional Coordinating Director, Hon. Mpoebi cited the constitutional provisions and demanded a reversal of the changes made by the chairman.
