11 cattle attacked, owners express distress at Fiano, in Atebubu-Amantin municipality.

The recent incident of seven(7) cattle being shot and four(4) poisoned in Fiano, a suburb near the Nyomo dam in the Atebubu-Amantin municipality. The news was reported on KMTV, with videos showing the owners of the cattle expressing their distress over the unfortunate event.
Fulani herdsmen and cattle rearing in the Atebubu-Amantin municipality have become a contentious issue, as crop farmers have been protesting against the damage caused by the cattle to their farms. Alleged the issue has escalated to the point where violence has erupted, leading to the killing and poisoning of innocent animals.


Before this incident, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atebubu-Amantin, Hon Ayarba Thomas and local traditional leaders have urged both crop farmers and animal farmers to remain calm and patient. They have acknowledged the grievances of both parties and are working towards finding a lasting solution to the issue.
The MCE has already met with the Municipal security forces and plans to engage with traditional rulers and other key stakeholders to address the root causes. It is crucial for all parties involved to come together and collaborate in finding a peaceful resolution to the problem before it escalates further.
The authorities have been warned to act swiftly in resolving the said situation to prevent any further violence or retaliation. Similar conflicts between farmers and herdsmen have led to deadly clashes in other regions and countries, and it is imperative that the situation in Atebubu-Amantin is addressed before it spirals out of control.
