OTI: “Volunteer Groups Contributed to The NPP’s 2016/20 Election Victories,” Coordinator
The Regional Coordinator of the Volunteer Groups of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Oti region, Hon. Wilson Marfo Kpakpladja has disclosed that the Volunteer Groups of the party contributed immensely to the electoral fortunes of the party in both the 2016 and 2020 elections.
Hon. Kpakpladja said this during the launch of “Unique Ladies,” a volunteer group for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP today, 10th May, 2024 in Dambai, the Oti regional capital.
He was optimistic that once there are patriots who are not part of the functional party structures but are willing to work for the betterment of the party, the party will retain power and Dr. Bawumia will become the next president of Ghana.
He added that the Volunteer Groups give individuals who are not part of the functional structures of the party the platform to operate.
Hon. Marfo Kpakpladja stated that “Unique Ladies” and many other volunteer groups will play critical roles in the ongoing campaign and upcoming general elections.
He was also sure that with time the various volunteer groups would be absorbed into the functional party structures just as TESCON and NASARA.
He, however, advised the volunteer groups to know their duties and act accordingly.
He said one of their cardinal duties is to market the party’s candidates, both presidential and parliamentary.
Again, he said their role is complementary to the party’s Functional Executives. Theirs is to support the elected officers to make their work easier, and not out there to compete with them.

Unique Ladies for Dr. Bawumia will be outdoored today and as a Regional Coordinator for Oti Region, I am extremely happy to be here.
This is a sign that all hope is not lost, there are still Ghanaians who have seen the good works of Dr. Bawumia who are not part of the functional party structures but are willing to work for the betterment of the party, so the volunteer groups give such individuals or groups the platform to operate.
The volunteer groups contributed to the NPP’s victory in both 2016 and the 2020 elections, the more reason why the works of volunteer groups such as Unique Ladies to be outdoored today will play a critical role in the ongoing campaign and upcoming general elections
TESCON Started as a volunteer group by the likes of Hon. Asenso Boakye, MP for Bantama and Minister of Roads and Highways, today TESCON is part of the Youth Wing of our great party, NASARA used to be a volunteer group in NPP but today NASARA is recognized as a functional structure of the NPP.
As a volunteer group let’s know our duties, one of the cardinal duties is to market our candidates, both presidential and parliamentary.
Our role is complementary to the party’s Functional Executives, we are here to support the elected officers to make their work easier, we are not here to compete with them.
In 2016, we delivered, in 2020 we delivered and Insha Allah, 2024 we shall be part of the history in breaking the 8.
Let’s continue to give out our best and our contribution will never go unnoticed.
In conclusion, let me also use this opportunity to call on our people, party faithfuls who are disappointed by the conduct of some of the appointees to look at the bigger picture and push harder for total victory on December 7, 2024.
We are putting our programs together and we shall soon hit the grounds running,
