NDC MP confident of victory in 2024 elections

The Member of Parliament for Atebubu Amantin Constituency, Hon. Sanja Nanja, has expressed his confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will win more seats in Parliament and the presidency in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at the Kwabena Festival, an annual yam festival celebrated by the people of Abease in the Pru West district for unity, Hon. Nanja touted the achievements of the erstwhile NDC government led by former President John Dramani Mahama. He said the NDC had delivered development and a sustainable economy to the country, unlike the current government which he accused of destroying the nation.

He said he did not need to brag that he would retain his seat, as the people of his constituency had witnessed his performance and would reward him with their votes. He also urged the people to rally behind the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, who he described as a visionary leader with a plan to prepare Ghana for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He said the NDC’s 24-hour economic policy, which focuses on infrastructure development, digital transformation, and human capital development, would create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and maximize productivity. He also promised to address the challenges facing his constituency, such as the poor state of roads, water supply, health facilities, and education.

He appealed to the people to maintain peace and unity ahead of the elections, and to disregard any attempts by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to divide them or deceive them with false promises. He said the NPP had failed to deliver on its 2016 manifesto pledges, and had lost the trust and confidence of the electorate.

He said the NPP had also witnessed an exodus of its ‘bigwig’ MPs from Parliament, indicating a loss of morale and direction in the party. He said the NDC, on the other hand, had a united and vibrant team of MPs and candidates, ready to serve the nation with integrity and competence.

He thanked the Paramount Chief and President of the Abease Traditional Council, Obrempong Kru Takyi (ii), for inviting him as the Guest Speaker of the festival, and commended the people for preserving their culture and traditions. He also expressed his gratitude to the NDC executives and supporters who accompanied him to the festival, and urged them to intensify their campaign and mobilization efforts to ensure a resounding victory for the party in 2024.
