Atebubu Astroturf Project underway, McOwusu Sekyere reports.

McOwusu Sekyere, Sports director of Atoobu 101.1 FM has reported, the abandoned Atebubu astroturf project is currently in progress under the auspices of the new government.

The project was initiated by Hon. Kofi Amoakohene, former MP and Minister for Atebubu-Amantin Constituency and Bono-East Region respectively, some years ago. After Hon. Kofi Amoakohene lost seat to Hon Sanja Nanja in 2020, the project has been left abandoned until recent developments.

McOwusu Sekyere hints the project is currently under new contractor, this was revealed after having a conversation with new contractor via phone call by the sports departments from the three different radio stations in Atebubu (Star FM, Atoobu FM, and Customer Radio) during a meeting this year.

McOwusu Sekyere ended up pleading for a massive effort and resources to complete the project as soon as possible since nearby sister constituencies, Sene West district and Pru West district are done with theirs.

He also highlighted numerous benefits of the project to the youth and the community as a whole. – “The benefits of the astroturf project to the youth and the community are numerous. Not only will it provide a modern sports facility for the youth to engage in various sporting activities, but it will also promote a healthy lifestyle and foster a sense of community spirit. Additionally, the completion of the project will enhance the overall infrastructure of the area and attract more visitors and investors to the community”.

The Atebubu astroturf project is a significant development for the community and it is important that all stakeholders work together to ensure its successful completion. With the support of the new contractor and the commitment of the community, the astroturf will soon be a reality, providing a valuable resource for the youth and contributing to the overall development of the area.
