“KRACHI-NCHUMURU: Borae-Ahenfie is Safe: No Outbreak of Diseases,” NPP

Contrary to rumors being circulated by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) that there was an outbreak of strange body disease, the leadership of the New Patriotic Party wishes to clarify that the recent activity in Borae-Ahenfie in the Krachi-Nchumsudru District was not a disease outbreak, but rather a routine health screening exercise organized by the District Health Directorate because a group NDC members had called the Member of Parliament(MP) about an outbreak: an unfortunate and infantile way of gaining political points.
It is worth noting that outbreaks are not announced by MPs or individuals but by health professionals through their authorities.

It is, therefore, not proper for information about an outbreak to be coming from the MP to the District Health Director and the District Chief Executive(DCE).
The party added that the information out there which the NDC and the MP think will gain some political points from it is rather causing fear and panic in people who go there for their routine merchandise.

In an attempt to gain cheap political points, the NDC and the MP are rather denying people their livelihood because nobody would like to go and work in a disease-prone community.
The leadership of the NPP who were at the community explained that health screening is usually conducted as part of proactive measures to promote public health and well-being within communities.
The purpose of health screening exercises is to assess the overall health status of residents, identify any potential health concerns, and provide necessary guidance and support to individuals as needed.
Such initiatives are essential for early detection and prevention of health issues, ultimately contributing to the welfare of the community in which the screening is done.
They assured the constituents and in particular, the people of Borae-Ahenfie and the surrounding communities to remain calm and continue with their daily activities and that there was no cause for alarm.
The party added that the screening exercise was professionally carried out to ensure the safety and comfort of all and sundry.
Regrettably, the misinformation has caused unnecessary tension and concern among some members of the community and the constituency as a whole.
However, the leaders of the NPP urged responsible citizens to work hard to promote unity and understanding by seeking accurate information and support initiatives aimed at improving the health of all.
