Atebubu Fɔyawoɔ themed, “Mobilizing for sustainable water supply in Atebubu”.

The Atebubu Traditional Council, under the leadership of HRM Ohempon Dr Yeboah Asiamah, is set to host the annual Fɔyawoɔ and Homecoming Festival in the first week of November, from the 3rd to the 9th, 2025. This year, the theme of the festival is “Mobilizing for sustainable water supply in Atebubu”, with a focus on raising funds to support the Atebubu Water Project.

The water crisis in Atebubu has been a pressing issue for the community, with many residents facing challenges in accessing clean and safe water for their daily needs. The Fɔyawoɔ Festival aims to address this issue by raising awareness and funds to support the implementation of the Atebubu Water Project. By coming together as a community during the festival, residents can contribute towards finding a sustainable solution to the water crisis in Atebubu.

In addition to the focus on the water project, the festival will also feature other important activities such as the Health legacy project, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Nsumankwaahemaa of Atebubu. The Murukuo Procession and the Atebubuman Education Excellence Awards will also be highlights of the event, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and educational achievements of the community.
The festival will be graced by invited guests of honor, including Hon Francis Owusu Antwi, the Bono-East Regional Minister, Hon Sanja Nanja, Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, and Hon Ayarba Thomas, the Municipal Chief Executive for Atebubu-Amantin Municipality. Nana Adu Kofi Baah Kumasuno, the CEO of Baah Herbal Hospital, has been named as the chairperson of the grand durbar of the event, bringing his expertise and leadership to ensure the success of the festival.

The Fɔyawoɔ and Homecoming Festival of 2025 presents a unique opportunity for the community of Atebubu to come together, celebrate their culture and heritage, and work towards finding a sustainable solution to the water crisis.
