ATEBUBU: Piabire Palace officially unveiled, HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah explains traditional symbols and artifacts.

Piabire Palace, the Palace of the Atebubu Traditional Area, was officially unveiled on August 8, 2024, in the town of Atebubu. The grand opening ceremony was a momentous occasion, attended by dignitaries, community members etc.. The President of the Atebubu Traditional Area, HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, presided over the event and explained the significance of the Palace and its decorations.

The Palace was adorned with traditional symbols and artifacts that hold deep cultural and historical significance for the people of Atebubu. These decorations were carefully chosen and placed to reflect the rich heritage and traditions of the town. Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah took the time to explain the meaning behind each symbol and artifact, highlighting their importance in the cultural identity of the Atebubu people.

During his speech, Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah expressed his gratitude to the leaders who had initiated the project, particularly the Atebubuhemaa, Nana Afia Donyina II. He also thanked all those who had generously donated towards the construction of the Palace, acknowledging their contributions to the realization of this important cultural landmark.

The construction of the Piabire Palace began years back but the major work was done in February 2024, and under the leadership of Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, the building was completed in just five months. This rapid progress was a testament to the dedication and hard work of all those involved in the project, as well as the strong leadership of Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah.

The name “Piabire” holds a special significance for the Atebubu people, as it is the official name for the Chief Palace. Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah shared the traditional history behind the name, explaining its origins and the cultural significance it holds for the people and town. The name “Piabire” now stands as a symbol of pride and identity for the people of Atebubu, representing their rich cultural heritage and traditions.
