Readwide Achievers presents certs, stationery etc to participants of Islamic Schools Quiz Competition.

The Readwide Achievers Society(RAS) organized quiz competition for Islamic schools in Atebubu-Amantin, with the aim of promoting personal hygiene and reading as well, on 28th January 2024.

The schools that participated were English and Arabic primary school, Pure Word school complex and African Center for Culture and Education school.

The occasion was graced by Madam Gladys Mantor, SISO for Atebubu Central ‘B’ Schools and Mr Owusu Mensa Richard from the Ghana library Authority Atebubu-Amantin.

Readwide Achievers promised to award the schools and the learners who participated in the quiz competition. Though they have no sponsors but struggling to inculcate the habit of reading into pupils for years, so they went around soliciting for support to be able to reward the schools and the learners but upon several consultations only few people came to their aid. These include Adom bookshop(Oxford dictionary, pens and pencils) whilst Mr Abu the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Atebubu-Amantin Constituency also helped the organization with a car to be able to visit the schools and distribute the prizes.

English and Arabic Primary School was given a dictionary as the winning school for primary, the school was also given a certificate whilst all the learners who participated for the school were also given a certificate, three pencils and a pen each.

Mr Owusu Michael the founder and president of Readwide Achievers Society urged the learners to take good care of the certificates as their property. He urged learners to continue reading, since reading promotion is the prior aim of the organization. Readwide Achievers aim at eradicating illiteracy through encouragement of reading.

He urged pupils who didn’t participate in the competition to try and be part in next competition.

Mr Owusu promised that they have been soliciting for support to be given to them more than what they have presented but this is what they have for now.

The Readwide Achievers Society team went to Pure Word School Complex, the 1st runners up to present to them, certificates, pencils and pens.

The certificates were endorsed by deputy director of education for Atebubu-Amantin municipal, The Municipal Chief Imam for Atebubu-Amantin, and the president of the Readwide Achievers.

The organization is still seeking for support for other future programs such as free vacation classes and other quizes ahead of them.
