Black Queens’ Grace Asantewaa visits Nananom of Atebubu Traditional Area.

On Wednesday, November 20th, the Ghanaian midfielder, currently playing for FC Juárez Femenil in Mexico, embarked on the second edition of the Grace Asantewaa Homecoming. The Black Queens asset and her team, the Grace Asantewaa Foundation, paid a courtesy visit to the Nananom of Atebubu Traditional Area at the Piabire Palace. The Benkumhene of Atebubu Traditional Area, Oheneba Owusu Afriyie II, who acted in the name of Atebubumanwura HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah and Nananom, welcomed the contingent with open arms.

Nananom praised the former Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC star for regularly visiting her hometown and for her dedication to giving back to the community. She was advised, prayed for, and blessed by the traditional leaders.


In her speech, Grace Asantewaa expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and shared that the Grace Asantewaa Foundation has been established to support the needy and give back to society. She emphasized the importance of giving back to the community and helping those in need.

Grace Asantewaa’s football journey started in Atebubu, where she honed her skills before moving on to play for Hasaacas and Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC in the Ghana Premier League. She then made the move to FC Logrono in Spain in 2019 before joining Real Betis Feminine. Currently, she is showcasing her talent for FC Juárez Femenil in Mexico.

Since 2018, Grace Asantewaa has been a key player for the Ghana Women’s National Team, representing her country in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations and other international competitions. Her dedication to both her football career and her community has made her a role model for young aspiring athletes in Ghana and beyond.
