Alleged: Yeji Pragia Rider Arrested Over An Attempt to Murder 12yrs girl.

On September 23, 2024, a disturbing incident occurred in Yeji involving a motor tricycle rider who attempted to murder a twelve-year-old girl named Emmanuella.

Emmanuella had been sent to fetch food ingredients for supper and boarded a motorcycle with the rider and two passengers. She informed them that she was heading to the nearby community of Cherepo, but the rider instead took her to a different community called Konkoma.

As Emmanuella realized that she was being taken to the wrong destination, she began to make noise in an attempt to seek help. However, the tricycle rider ignored her pleas and continued to ride towards an uncompleted building along with the other passengers. It was there that one of the individuals in the group brandished a knife, threatening Emmanuella with harm.

Fortunately, a Good Samaritan appeared at the scene, causing the gang members to flee in fear. The man then took Emmanuella under his protection and escorted her to safety. Thanks to his intervention, the young girl was spared from further harm.

Following the incident, the matter was reported to the Yeji Ghana Police Service, leading to the arrest of the tricycle rider involved in the attempted murder, Emmanuella’s elderly brother, affirmed.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter to uncover the full extent of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

As the investigation progresses, updates on the case will be shared with the public to ensure transparency and accountability in the pursuit of justice for Emmanuella. Such acts of violence against innocent children must not go unpunished, and it is crucial that the authorities take swift action to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
