Judicial Council of Atebubu Traditional Area; Four Sub-chiefs Sworn-in.

Four of Ohempon's sub-Chiefs, namely Nana Owusu Amoako Kyerefo (Adehyeɛhene/ Kyerememhene), Nana Ata Gyan Katakyie (Sompahene), Nana Kofi Amoakohene (Nsumankwaahene), and Nana Asare Baffour (Ntotoɛhene), have been sworn in to be part of the Judicial Council of the Atebubu Traditional Area. They took the Oath of Secrecy and the Oath of Judicial today at the Atebubu Magistrate Court, presided over by H/W Nana Achea Bruwaa Ababio.

With this swearing-in ceremony, these traditional leaders now have the mandate and authority to pass verdicts, similar to the role of judges in Ghana. This move is part of HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah’s initiatives to ensure the maintenance of law, order, and justice within the Atebubu Traditional Area.

By empowering these sub-Chiefs with judicial responsibilities, it is hoped that the workload of the Municipal courts (Magistrate, Circuit, and High court) will be reduced. This will not only help in the efficient dispensation of justice but also contribute to the overall functioning of the legal system in the area.

The inclusion of traditional leaders in the judicial process is a significant step towards promoting a more inclusive and community-oriented approach to justice. It recognizes the importance of traditional institutions in resolving disputes and upholding the rule of law within the Atebubu Traditional Area.

The swearing-in of these sub-Chiefs to the Judicial Council marks a positive development in the quest for a fair and effective justice system in the Atebubu Traditional Area. It is a testament to the commitment of HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah and the traditional leadership to uphold the principles of justice and ensure the well-being of their community.
